Shoreline Search
Listing Programs
Getting
your site recognized by search engines is best accomplished
by structuring your site from the inside out, but we won't go
into the details here. Shoreline gives you an assortment of
search submission programs with varying degrees of aggressiveness,
depending upon the amount of urgency you require, and the degree
to which your business depends upon search engine positioning
for its market share.
Shoreline
Internet optimizes your site for visibility on the web.
There are three major components to the successful search
engine submission.
1.
Organization:
Your site must be properly organized for "spidering and
indexing" by the search engines
• broken links eliminated
• metatags consistent with search criteria
• see "Site Optimization"
2.
Submission:
Your site must be submitted properly to the search engines
• must be consistent with website organization and metatags
3.
Frequency:
Your search submission must reoccur at regular intervals
• Search engines visbility depends upon a planned program
of repeated submissions.
Site Optimization
Before listing with search engines that will drive traffic
to your site, it is important to have the siate "prepped"
for access by the search engine "spider" software. Search
engine "bots" operate automatically by checking every link
on your site and every metatag, among other things.
Quality Counts
Whenever the "spider" encounters a broken link, it drops
the URL and goes on to its next assigned task. Broken links
or inappropriate navigation on your site can result in its
being ignored by search engines, regardless of how much you
spend. To simply list your site without such optimization
would be a waste of money. Shoreline will assess your site
for compatibility with the major search bots, and will recommend
optimizations to your site prior to listing it with search
engines.
Shoreline
charges a fee for this assessment, based on the number of
pages in your site, much of which will be applied toward any
site redesign or optimization work performed by Shoreline.
